Welcome to a visual memory of our time together at the Illinois Iowa Council of Katan Youth Group (IICKY).

I'm just a parent/volunteer, so this website is probably a bit skewed. On the other hand, I wanted it to reflect what I saw (not necessarily heard) from when I got on the scene at Temple Emanuel in Davenport, Iowa, from Saturday, 11am until Sunday at 9am when they left. What you don't see here is the Friday night Shabbat service, the mixer, time with host families, and the Saturday morning Shabbat service.
                      - Alan Garfield -

The theme was Mini Me, taken from Austin Powers. He was a small  character (literally) from the movie and the kids thought that he epitomized the issue of being Jewish from a small town and the problems found therein.

In attendance were 43 kids from Iowa (Des Moines, Ames, Altoona, Bettendorf, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Dubuque, and Iowa City) and Illinois (Decatur, Elmwood, Champaign, Peoria, Shelbyville, and Moline/Rock Island).

Co-advisors to the Temple Emanuel Youth Group (QCTYG): Mrs. Robin Kroloff and Mr. Tom Lytton.

If you're a kid who attended - I hope these images bring back some great memories. If you're a parent - I hope these images put your mind to rest, a bit, regarding what goes on. If you're a kid who is thinking about NFTY - I hope these images get you excited so maybe you'll help make the next one as successful as this one was.
